St. Andrew's Church in Ukraine
Located in the Podil district of Kiev, it is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. It was built in memory of St. Andrew, who is considered an "apostle of Ross" because he was the first missionary to spread Christianity in the Kievan Rus region. Designed by Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastalli and built in the mid-18th century, its unique Baroque style and five dome cross design make it an outstanding representative of traditional Ukrainian church architecture. Located on a steep slope, its location and architectural style are impressive. It is an important monument to Ukrainian history, architecture, and 18th century painting.
