The life history is one generation per year, with an egg brown color, measuring 6.0mm in length and 1.6-2.0mm in width. The eggs overwinter in the soil layer. The call is loud, and male insects make sounds by rubbing their forewings to attract the opposite sex. It is an omnivorous insect that mainly preys on other insects and sometimes also eats plants.
