Also known as the red stingray, it is a species of fish belonging to the ray family and the ray genus. Mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical waters of the Indian Ocean and Western Pacific, including coastal areas of China. Flat body shape, round or nearly round in shape, usually brownish red or reddish brown in color, with irregular dark spots scattered on top. The tail is slender and has a row of sharp spines on both sides, which contain venom and are the defensive weapons of the red stingray. It is a benthic fish that usually inhabits sandy or muddy seabeds and feeds on small fish, shrimp, crabs, etc. Their living habits are relatively concealed, often hiding in the sand during the day and coming out to forage at night. Has strong reproductive ability and can lay eggs multiple times a year.
