Big Blue Flash Butterfly

The Great Blue Flash Butterfly, also known as the Blue Moore Fu Butterfly and the Blue Demon Ji, is the largest species of the Flash Butterfly genus in the Flash Butterfly family. Known for its metallic blue wings, the upper surface of the wings is bright blue, while the lower surface is similar to the leaves, showing mottled brown, gray, black or red. It lives mainly in the rainforests of Central and South America. The wings have a unique structural color, and their scales are complex in structure. They are composed of multi-layer three-dimensional fences. When the light is irradiated, they will produce physical phenomena such as refraction, reflection and diffraction, thus showing a brilliant metallic luster. The adults feed on the sap of rotting fruit. The larvae are hosted by cocaceae and legumes.
