Tortue Monopoussoir was Cartier's first timepiece. This is a compact watch, measuring 25mm x 35mm, equipped with a traditional pillar wheel timing movement with a horizontal clutch. It has a very slim bezel and matte dial, with block shaped Roman numerals, chemin de fer minute tracks, and flame blue gemstone hands on it. The production of this watch is very low, and the original Tortue single button that appears at the auction is extremely rare. It is estimated that only 11 examples have appeared so far.
