Fang Ding means a square food utensil with two ears and four legs. During the Shang and Zhou dynasties, it was popular and commonly used as a sacrificial vessel, such as the unearthed animal faced milk nail patterned square tripod, the Simu Wu square tripod, and the He Dafang tripod.
