Flat in shape, usually between 20 and 30 centimeters in length, with a blue gray or dark gray body scattered with black spots and stripes. Mainly inhabiting coral reef areas, feeding on algae and small invertebrates. It is a social fish that often swims in groups around coral reefs in search of food.
