It is a peculiar fish that lives in the deep sea, named after its transparent head and unique tubular eyes. Their eyes can rotate, not only to gaze upwards, but also to look forward, helping them capture prey in the pitch black deep-sea environment. Small in size, usually only about ten centimeters long, feeding on small fish and jellyfish. The eyes contain green pigment, which can filter out sunlight shining from the ocean surface, making it easier for them to detect glowing jellyfish and other organisms. Their heads are surrounded by a transparent liquid shield to protect their eyes. Discovered for the first time in 1939, the pipefish remains an important subject of research for marine biologists to this day.
