Atacama Salt Flats, Chile
It is the largest salt marsh in Chile and one of the largest lithium deposits in the world, located in the central Andes Mountains, within the Flamingo National Reserve, 150 kilometers west of San Pedro de Atacama, at an altitude of 4300 meters. Renowned for its unique geographical location and abundant mineral resources. Covering an area of over 6000 square miles, its surface is covered with rough and fragile white salt crystals formed by the evaporation of high salinity water underground.
