Yang Tao
Yang Tao (scientific name: Averrhoa carambola), also known as Yang Tao, Yang Tao, and Wu Zai Zi, was formerly known as Chang Chu, Chang Chang, and Liu Chang. It is an evergreen shrub or small tree belonging to the family Oxalis and the genus Spades. Originating from tropical Asia around India, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. Min people call it Yang Tao because it came through the ocean. Guangdong people, including Hong Kong, are also known as Yang Tao. Its fruit size is about 6-8 centimeters in diameter and can be eaten as a fruit or as a cooking ingredient, such as salads, Western pickles, candied fruits, etc. It tastes like a pear.
