Hopibouts Volcano Field, Arizona
The Bidahochi Basin, located in northeastern Arizona, is an area composed of approximately 300 volcanic centers, mainly consisting of monogenic volcanoes of the Mie age (about 7 million years ago). These volcanoes are mainly composed of high magnesium basalt and alkaline basalt, indicating that their magma sources may come from the mantle. The Bidahochi Formation records the sedimentary environment of Lake Hopigu and the volcanic records of the Hopibuts volcanic field. The volcanic activity of the Hopibuts volcanic field is closely related to the geological history of the Bidahochi Basin.
