It is a type of spider with strong toxicity, belonging to the widow spider family. Known for its vibrant black body color and red belly spots, these spots are sometimes mistaken for the origin of the name 'Black Widow', but in reality, their names are more related to the behavior of females sometimes eating male partners after mating. Venom contains neurotoxins that can cause severe pain and a range of symptoms in humans, including muscle spasms, nausea, vomiting, and sweating. Mainly distributed in temperate regions around the world, commonly found in North America, Europe, and Asia. Usually active at night, it hides under rocks, in tree bark, or in cracks in buildings during the day.
