British Academy Film Awards trophy
The British Academy Film Awards is an award in the film category presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. It was first presented in 1948 and was originally intended to recognize British films and foreign films starring British actors. It is equivalent to the Oscars in the UK, but in recent years, nominations have been more open, and any film officially released in the UK can be nominated. The awards have been changed to award films from around the world, which has had a greater impact. This award also presents awards for game related works. The 77th British Academy Film Awards ceremony will be held on February 18, 2024.
