Artichokes

Cynara scolymus0, also known as Korean thistle, French lily, and vegetable thistle. It is a perennial herbaceous plant in the Asteraceae family. Artichokes are native to the Mediterranean coast and were introduced to China from France in the 19th century. By the 21st century, they have been widely cultivated in provinces such as Yunnan, Zhejiang, and Hubei. Artichokes have a straight root system, fleshy texture, and 3-5 lateral roots on the main root. The roots have nodules and are brittle in texture.
