Pistachio walnut baklava
is a classic Middle Eastern dessert known for its layers of crispy pastry and rich nutty fillings. It is usually made of multi-layer ultra-thin pastry, with crushed nuts such as pistachios and walnuts in the middle. After baking, it is drenched with sweet syrup, which tastes crisp, sweet but not greasy. To make it, the nuts are ground and mixed with a little sugar and cinnamon, then spread evenly between the puff pastry. Each layer of crust needs to be brushed with melted butter to ensure a crispy taste. After the baking is complete, pour the cooled syrup while hot, allowing the pastry to fully absorb the sweetness of the syrup. Its origins date back to the Ottoman Empire and are now often served with black tea or coffee.

The design allows it to both pierce and cut, with a blade width that remains consistent from the handle to the tip, which is not common in other similar weapons. It was first widely used in the 16th century, especially by the elite Ottoman army - Janissary. Not only is it known for its practicality in combat, but it has also become a symbol of identity and status due to its decorative and symbolic qualities.
