Ginger
Ginger is a perennial herb of the genus Zingiberaceae. Rootstock with yellow-green flowers and a pungent fragrance. The plant height is 0.5-1 m; the rhizome is thick, branched, aromatic and spicy. Leaf blade lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, glabrous, sessile; ligule membranous. Total pedicel up to 25cm; spikes cone-shaped; bracts ovate, pale green or margins pale yellow, apically pointed. The roots are used for medicinal purposes, and fresh or dried products can be used as cooking ingredients or made into pickles and sugar ginger. Aromatic oil can be extracted from stems, leaves and rhizomes, which can be used in food, beverage and cosmetic spices.
