It is herbivorous and feeds on cacti, fruits, pineapples, ferns, leaves, and grass. Can live in drier environments. It is also a very slow moving animal, only able to move 260 meters per hour. Only distributed on 14 islands in the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador, a South American country. The two most famous individuals of this species are the lonely George and the tortoise Diego.
