The Mi-8 helicopter is a multi-purpose helicopter designed and manufactured by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant of the former Soviet Union. Since its first flight in the 1960 s, the Mi-8 has become one of the most produced helicopters in the world and is widely used in military and civilian applications.

The Mi-8 is a twin-bladed, single-rotor, medium-sized helicopter. In 1964, the Mi-8 military and civilian types began to be put into production at the same time. It is the largest helicopter in the world and is known as the "Kalashnikov" in the helicopter kingdom ".
