The surface near the Washburn crater on Mars
NASA's Perseverance rover used its Right Mastcam-Z camera to discover a strange "Bright Angel" boulder on Mount Washburn. The latter is essentially a pair of cameras located above the Mars rover mast and captured this image on May 29, 2024 (Sol 1164). In order to reach the "Angel of Light", the "Perseverance" sailed along the ridges of the Neretva Valley river, which carried a large amount of water that flowed into the Jezaro crater billions of years ago. What is the next step for the Mars rover? Currently, it is analyzing rock outcrops to assess whether they should be collected
NASA's Perseverance rover (to land on Mars in 2021)
American nuclear-powered rover. "Perseverance" (Perseverance) Mars rover is a new generation of Mars rover announced by NASA, named after Alexander Mather, a junior high school student in the United States, to search for evidence of past life on Mars. On July 30, 2020, the US Mars rover "Perseverance" lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Base in Florida. The Perseverance probe will make a nearly seven-month trip to Mars and land safely in a spectacular "aerial crane" at around 4:55 a.m. Beijing time on February 19, 2021 in the Martian Jezero crater.
