Black spruce
Black spruce (Picea Mariana Britton, Sterns&Poggenb.) is a plant of the pine family and the spruce genus. The crown of the tree ranges from conical to pointed. The bark is gray brown in color. Branches are short and drooping, often stratified; The small branches do not droop and are yellow brown in color. Bud gray brown, with a sharp tip. The leaves are hard, light blue-green, with white frost, and all surfaces have pores. The tips are mostly blunt and pointed. Scales fan-shaped, widest near the tip, rigid, with irregular teeth on the edge of the tip. Round fruit spindle shaped, dull, deep purple, mature purple brown.
