Potato native to the mountains of tropical America, spread to India in the 16th century, and then to China, is now widely cultivated in temperate regions of the world. Potato likes cold and dry climate, strong adaptability, loose fertile sandy soil is appropriate, short growth cycle and high yield. Because seed reproduction can lead to the separation of traits, the most common way of reproduction of potatoes is vegetative tuber propagation.
