The statue is now in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Ramesses III was a pharaoh of the 20th dynasty of ancient Egypt, reigning from 1186 BC to 1155 BC. He was a powerful pharaoh who worked to restore stability and prosperity to his country. His reign is considered one of the peaks of the New Kingdom period.
