The Sony a9 II is the upgraded version of the flagship model a9 positioned higher than the a7 line in the A series. Like the original, the new model targets the professional sports photography market and still features the 24.2-megapixel Exmor RS "stacked" CMOS sensor. Stacked sensors with integrated storage enable ultra high speed reading and replenishment of electronic shutters, achieving a maximum shutter speed of 1/32000 second and high-speed continuous shooting without black screens at 20fps. The Sony a9 II still has 693 phase detection autofocus points, covering 93% of the image area.
