The Yang peach (scientific name: Averrhoa carambola L.), also known as Yang peach, Yang peach, Xing pear, Wu Zaozi, etc., is a perennial evergreen tree under the Yang peach genus of the Oxalis family, with a plant height of up to 12 meters. The bark is light brown, smooth or finely cracked, with a slightly sweet and astringent taste. Odd feather compound leaves alternate and are oval or elliptical in shape. The flowers are small, slightly fragrant, and consist of several to multiple flowers forming a inflorescence or cone. The fruit is a berry, fleshy, drooping, and star shaped in cross-section. The seeds are black brown in color. The flowering period is from April to December, and the fruiting period is from July to December.
