Viking Long Ship
It is a Viking long ship, also often called "Drakkar" (Draka ship, meaning "dragon ship"). This ship was a multi-purpose vessel used by Viking pirates, explorers and merchants in the Viking Age (about the end of the 8th century to the middle of the 11th century). The bow and stern are usually carved with the heads of mythical creatures (such as dragons or snakes), symbolizing power and deterrence. They can be paddled on inland waterways or when there is no wind, either by square cross sail, or by using oars on both sides.
