Ten-spotted pot step carapace is a species of beetle belonging to the family Pacapidae. It is small in size, about 3.5-5mm in length, with a yellow ground color and black spots. The pronotum is black with an irregular yellow stripe in the middle and 10 black spots on the elytra, features that give it its name. It lives mainly in wet deciduous forests, with a particular preference for hillside environments with swamps or wetlands. The larvae usually live in mobile "pots" made from their own droppings and feed on fallen leaves, while the adults feed on the living leaves of their host plant. It is extremely rare in the UK, concentrated in parts of Scotland and England. It is currently classified as a vulnerable species.
