Atlas robot is a bipedal humanoid robot primarily developed by Boston Dynamics and funded and supervised by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) of the US Department of Defense. This 6-foot (1.8-meter) tall robot was designed specifically for various search and rescue missions and was unveiled to the public on July 11, 2013.
