Its eyes are located on the long stalks on both sides of the head. This structure is called "eyestalk" and is its most prominent feature. It is mainly distributed in the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia. The adult body is about 10mm long and has a metallic luster, usually green or blue. Males usually have longer eyestalks than females, and this sexual ditype plays an important role in mate selection. The larvae usually live in the stems of plants and feed on plant tissue, while the adults feed on nectar and other small insects.
