The green turtle, also known as the sea turtle, is one of the larger hard-shelled turtles. The dorsal armor is dark brown or dark green, with yellow spots on it, and the scutellum is arranged in mosaic, with beautiful color. The limbs are specialized into fins, the forelimbs are longer than the hindlimbs, and the medial side has 1 claw each. The claws of the male forelimbs are strong and curved into a hook shape. Widely distributed in tropical and subtropical marine and coastal waters. In China, green sea turtles are distributed from the coast of Shandong in the north to the Beibu Gulf in the south. It mainly inhabits coral reefs, salt marshes and seagrass beds, and spends most of its time in shallow coastal waters with lush seagrass beds. Seaweed as a staple food, occasionally also eat mollusks, arthropods or fish.
